The Grenada Development Bank (GDB), is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented professional to fill the position of Monitoring, Collections and Recoveries Officer.

This role is critical to ensuring the soundness of the bank’s loan portfolio through effective monitoring, delinquency control, and recoveries in line with our approval policies.

JOB SUMMARY

The Monitoring, Collections and Recoveries Officer will be responsible for overseeing loans in arrears of 45 days and over, ensuring adherence to the bank’s delinquency and recoveries Policy.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the Monitoring and Collections Officer and coordinate with Loans Officers to follow-up on all delinquent accounts
  • Ensure timely and structured customer engagement for all loans 45-89 days in arrears
  • Lead the recovery process for all loans 90+ days in arrears in collaboration with the bank’s legal counsel
  • Analyse delinquent accounts to determine causes of default and recommend tailored interventions or restructuring plans
  • Enforce recovery strategies, including litigation, foreclosure, or asset realisation per policy
  • Represent the bank in legal proceedings where necessary
  • Ensure all communications, site visits, and follow-ups are documented in line with internal standards
  • Generate monthly reports on delinquency trends, recoveries, and portfolio performance
  • Maintain and continuously update the recoveries portfolio database
  • Work closely with the Business Support Officer to understand business performance and support struggling clients in improving operations and cash flow
  • Contribute to updating the bank’s Recoveries and Collections Policy

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in credit, collections, recoveries, or legal support related to loan enforcement
  • Experience working in financial institutions or legal recovery environments is an asset.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of delinquency management, credit analysis, and recovery procedures
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills, with the ability to engage diplomatically but firmly with clients
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and loan management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High ethical standards, discretion, and professionalism
  • Resilient, meticulous, and a strong team player
