The Investment Migration Agency of Grenada (IMA Grenada) is pleased to announce a new partnership with acclaimed Grenadian performing artist and songwriter, V’ghn (Jevaughn John), in support of his recently conferred role as WIPO Intellectual Property (IP) Youth Ambassador by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

This collaboration will see IMA Grenada supporting a national series of workshops and training sessions designed to raise awareness of intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on educating Grenadian youth. The initiative comes as part of V’ghn’s global mandate to promote IP education and advocacy, and reflects Grenada’s commitment to investing in its creative and entrepreneurial talent.

“At IMA Grenada, we believe that knowledge is one of the most powerful investments we can make in our young people,” said Karline Purcell, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of IMA Grenada. “Understanding intellectual property rights opens doors to opportunity, ownership, and independence, all critical elements in building a resilient, innovative Grenada.”

V’ghn’s appointment as WIPO’s IP Youth Ambassador marks a significant milestone for Grenada, placing a local voice at the centre of global conversations around intellectual property and the creative economy. Through this new role, and with the support of IMA Grenada, he will help equip young creatives, students, and aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools to protect their work, commercialise their ideas, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

“I am honoured to take on this responsibility and to work alongside IMA Grenada to bring this message to our young people,” V’ghn stated. “When our youth understand the value of their ideas and how to safeguard them, they gain the confidence to innovate, to lead and to build lasting legacies.”

This partnership is directly aligned with the Government of Grenada’s wider thrust to expand the creative economy and ensure that young people are not only culturally expressive, but also empowered with the business knowledge and legal literacy needed to thrive.

Is this a joke or just another attempt to send us down a rabbit hole?
