The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce a significant development in Grenada’s diplomatic relations with the Republic of Ghana and the Republic of Benin.

Effective immediately, Grenadian citizens can now travel visa-free to both Ghana and Benin, marking a major step forward in strengthening ties and facilitating ease of travel between these nations.

This milestone reflects Grenada’s growing partnerships with Ghana and Benin, built on shared values, cultural connections, and mutual respect.

The visa waivers will enhance opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, fostering deeper bonds between our countries.

“These visa waiver agreements mark a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between Grenada, Ghana and Benin. By removing this barrier, we are fostering greater opportunities for collaboration, cultural exchange, and economic partnership.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains committed to ensuring that our citizens have increased access to the global community,” said Permanent Secretary Roxie Hutchinson.

Key highlights:

  • Nationals of Grenada and Benin holding diplomatic, official, service or ordinary passports may enter, leave, transit and stay without a visa requirement in either territory for a period not exceeding 90 days during any period of 180 days from the date of their first entry
  • The Visa Waiver Agreement will exempt citizens of Grenada and Ghana from visa requirements to enter, stay in, transit through and depart. The visa is valid for a period not exceeding 30 days in any 180-day period from the date of first entry

The Governments of Grenada, Benin and Ghana look forward to deepening their partnership and creating new opportunities for their peoples under this progressive initiative. This development is part of Grenada’s broader efforts to strengthen engagement with the African continent, building on historical connections and mutual interests and further strengthening the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the three nations, facilitating easier travel for tourism, business, and cultural exchange.

The ruling party in the country Grenada is NDC and the ruling party in the Republic of Ghana is NDC wow I pray that this union revokes the spirit of the late Mr Bishop and our late Visionary President Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s to reverse the good fortunes back to the 2 countries.

Congratulations! Welcome to the club. These are things that I prayed for since 2001 on my first visit to Ile Ife, that are coming to fruition now. After years of Transatlantic Trade Talks every Emancipation we are seeing the rewards.
