Sol has an immediate vacancy for the following position at its Grand Mal Depot, Grenada.
LPG Mate (Contractor)
This role requires an individual with a minimum of 4 CXC passes. At least 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience, is well organised and numerate. Candidate must possess basic knowledge of safe handling of LPG, be hardworking and detail-oriented, and can work effectively within a small team and follow procedures. Possession of a penalty-free heavy goods vehicle driving licence is a requirement. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provision of service as LPG mate
- Connecting/disconnecting delivery hoses on LPG deliveries
- Safe filling of customer gas storage, being aware of slip, trip and other hazards that may cause personal injury or injury to others
- Acting as a hose man to assist in the completion of safe and timely deliveries of bulk gas deliveries
- Spotting for driver in manoeuvring tight situations and reversing
- Always ensure the highest level of safety awareness and practices
- Assist in the shifting and stacking of LPG cylinder bottles
- Recovery of empties and leakers from customer sites and return to depot
- Attend safety and toolbox meetings, drills exercises, and execute tasks as assigned
- Ensure all HSSE standards and practices are compiled within all work-related activities
- Assist with lubricant deliveries
- On-time delivery of specific tasks that may be requested from time to time
- Assist with the completion of the LPG Bulk Customer Site Safety Checklist
- Assist the driver with the calculation of bulk quantities delivered to customers
- Assist in keeping the company’s vehicles clean
- Perform inspections on the condition of the delivery hose and connection at the customer end
- Participate in HSE meetings and Driver toolbox talks
- Identify and report BLACK SPOTS on customer sites
