The Grenada Senior Men National Team is set to make history with a landmark match against Russia on 19 March 2025.

This event marks the first time the Grenadian team will compete on Russian soil, a move that underscores the Grenada Football Association’s ambitions for international exposure and growth.

This groundbreaking match is anticipated to attract substantial attention, not only for its historic significance but also for the chance it provides Grenadian players to measure their skills against a top-tier opponent. The encounter is part of GFA’s broader strategy to enhance its competitive edge and provide players with opportunities to showcase their talents beyond the region, thereby increasing their visibility to clubs worldwide.

“We are excited about this opportunity to play against Russia,” said Marlon Glean, President of the Grenada Football Association (GFA). “This match will allow our players to gain invaluable experience and demonstrates the GFA’s commitment to National Teams development. Competing on such a stage is a dream for many players, and I’m sure they are ready to embrace this challenge.”

Russia is currently ranked 34th on the FIFA Rankings, and this historic match is expected to significantly contribute to the team’s development, serving as a stepping stone for future international engagements. It aligns with the FA’s ongoing efforts to elevate the level of football in Grenada and prepare its players for the rigors of international competition. The Grenadian team aims to leverage this to foster growth and skill enhancement, setting the groundwork for more ambitious goals in the future.

Absolutely outrageous. The entire football board must be fired with immediate effect.

Mr. Glean you and the GFA are tone deaf. Sending your young men to Russia is thoughtless and dangerous. Supporting a country who has violated war measures by attacking another country is unfathomable. No good will come of this and no one will be watching this match.
