Soroptimist International Grenada, in collaboration with The Ministry of Community and Social Development, Housing and Gender Affairs and Cuso International, are proud to announce the successful conclusion of the project “Empowering Girls in Grenada to navigate their periods with dignity.”

This initiative aimed to provide essential support to young women at the Programme for Adolescent Mothers (PAM) and Grand Anse School for Social Development, ensuring they can manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.

Throughout the project, Dignity Packages were distributed containing vital hygiene products. Each package included sanitary pads, wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body lotion, soap, and deodorant. These items are crucial for promoting health, hygiene, and self-esteem among young girls, allowing them to focus on their education without the worry of inadequate menstrual care.

The feedback from recipients has been overwhelmingly positive. Many young women expressed their gratitude for the support, highlighting how these resources will help them feel more comfortable and confident during their periods.

“This initiative wasn’t just about providing products, it was about ensuring these girls understand that they are equal and capable of achieving their dreams regardless of the challenges they faced,” said Elaine Henry-McQueen, Women’s Rights Advocate.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all partners, volunteers, and supporters who made this project possible. Your commitment to empowering girls in Grenada has made a significant difference in their lives.

As we close this chapter, we remain dedicated to advocating for girls’ health and well-being in our community. We look forward to future initiatives that will continue to support and uplift young women in Grenada.
