All pedestrians and motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution on the roads.
This precaution has become necessary considering the excessive rainfall early this morning. This has caused flash flooding and landslides in some areas, making access restrictive.
Due to the ongoing severe weather and associated risks, we understand that some workers may be unable to travel safely to work due to flooding and landslides. If the weather conditions prevent you from getting to work, please notify your employer as soon as possible.
We are kindly asking employers to be tolerant and understanding in cases where workers are unable to travel to work today.
We are also asking motorists and pedestrians to stay off the road as much as possible to allow the heavy equipment and machinery to clear landslides in a timely manner.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates during today’s press conference at 11:30 am, Tuesday, 19 November.
