The Ministry of Community and Social Development, Housing, and Gender Affairs proudly shares details of its various programmes and activities focused on promoting positive masculinity, gender equality, and tackling gender-based violence.
These activities, including The Boys to Men Programme in St Patrick, Men’s Talk in St David, and Men’s Cave in River Sallee, brought together local men and boys to discuss how they can contribute to making our society safer and more inclusive.
The goal was to create a space where men could talk openly about relationships, power, and consent. These discussions aimed to help men understand their role in breaking the cycle of violence, which often impacts women and girls the most. Through a mix of games, discussions, and activities, the participants explored important topics such as Men’s Health, Men’s Purpose, Financial Literacy, and, most importantly, how men can play a role in preventing and addressing gender-based violence in their communities.
“Men have an important part to play in building a society based on equality. By encouraging open discussions about health, purpose, and how to be positive role models, we are working to create safer communities for everyone,” said Anderson Richardson, Gender Programme Development Officer.
The Ministry of Community and Social Development, Housing, and Gender Affairs is committed to continuing its efforts to engage men in meaningful conversations, empowering them to take responsibility in ending gender-based violence and creating a society where everyone—regardless of gender—can live without fear.
