Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of VEHICLE MECHANIC II.
General Accountability:
Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, the Vehicle Mechanic II is generally accountable for maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment at the company, including heavy-duty and light-weight vehicles, and tyre repair.
The incumbent ensures the effective and safe operational use of all mechanical equipment at Grenada Electricity Services Limited.
Minimum required qualifications & experience:
- Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- A valid G-Class driver’s licence
- 3 years of working experience in the mechanical operations of a power station or a mechanical workshop as a mechanic III or equivalent
Minimum required knowledge skills & abilities:
- Ability to repair and service a wide range of motor vehicles including vehicles with aerial devices
- Ability to perform basic gas welding/bronzing
- Ability to operate with minimum direction and guidance and to tender sound technical advice
- Ability to write reports and work according to manufacturer’s specifications
- Basic understanding of the general principles of electricity
- Basic supervisory skills including ability to lead work teams of up to 3 persons
- Proficiency in the use of electronic diagnostic tools in troubleshooting
- Proficiency in the use of computers and specialised maintenance application software
