Nisha’s a creative person, with a love of all things art. In her youth she studied visual art at secondary school and was a staple in the National Festival of the Arts competition.

She would later go on to do theatre while studying journalism and business liberal arts at the Miami Dade College, all the while applying her talent and skill of visual art to the painting of costumes and later fashion designs.

By her mid-twenties, she’d found a passion for graphic design and shifted her attention away from visual art to digital art. From 2009 to 2011, she fused her talent for graphic design with her BA degree in journalism from Penn State University to design and publish Grenada’s official Spicemas magazine, Canboulay, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and the then Grenada Carnival Committee. Today, she is the founder and managing director of My Grenada Solutions marketing agency.

Nisha has found solace once more in the bosom of visual art. Returning to the craft in 2017 following the death of her parents, she paints mostly as therapy and often for her friends. “Bloom” is her first-ever public showing. It represents a coming-of-age moment for the artist, who is transitioning into yet another phase of her life showing a passion project that exhibits pieces mostly done this year as she celebrates her return to creativity.

Most of the pieces, including her hero piece on Maurice Bishop, ‘Free People’, are mixed media with acrylic paint, also the use of synthetic flowers and gemstones. They represent her pride in country, her desire to live fully, and her commitment to self-expression.

The location is known as the Laluna Art Project and comprises the elements of Art and hospitality — an experimentation of art, food, and beverage. The Art Space is the gallery display area, featuring works from local artists. It is open for viewing every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 100% of the sales go directly to the artist as part of Laluna’s commitment to helping local artists.

The Monkey Bar is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from lunch to sunset. It features a Sunday local dish and is also available for private events. The main entrance is from the Portici Beach public beach access in Point Salines on the way to Dr Grooms Beach. The Sculpture Garden is 2 acres of beachfront land called the “Enchanted Forest.” It comprises Land Art that continues to evolve with new art installations, creating a platform of inventive creations, such as upcycling plastics into art sculptures.
