The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) stands in solidarity with the government and people of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.
We have faith in our people and believe Grenada will emerge from this stronger and more resilient.
The devastation from Hurricane Beryl has tested our strength, but our history proves our capacity to recover. We are encouraged by the swift response from the government, local authorities, and the unwavering support from our members, citizens, the diaspora, and our regional and international partners.
We commend the government’s immediate action in addressing urgent needs and its strategic vision for a robust recovery. The chamber reaffirms its commitment to collaborating closely with the government and all stakeholders to support and expedite recovery efforts.
In this crucial period, the chamber commits to:
- Mobilise Resources: Partner with businesses and international organisations to provide essential support to the affected areas
- Advocate for Policy Support: Work with the government to implement policies for rapid recovery and sustainable development
- Foster Innovation and Resilience: Promote innovative solutions that restore and enhance community resilience
- Strengthen Community Engagement: Encourage community-led initiatives focused on rebuilding and strengthening social cohesion
The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to the relief efforts. We urge the business community and citizens to continue their generous support in rebuilding our beloved Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
We are dedicated to “building back better,” ensuring our efforts lead to more resilient infrastructure, improved livelihoods, and a stronger economy. Our shared commitment and collaboration will be the cornerstone of our recovery and future growth.
Together, we will rise above this adversity and emerge stronger. The Chamber of Commerce is here to support every step of the way.
