Job Title: Senior Commercial Manager – Joyau Des Caraibes and its affiliates
Department: Development
Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing all aspects of commercial operations within the organisation. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to drive revenue growth, managing key client relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of professionals and collaborate closely with various departments to achieve business objectives and maximise profitability.
Responsibilities
The Commercial Manager is required to ensure professional completion of all commercial requirements, duties, and functions relative to construction contracts and development opportunities as required within the Caribbean Region. These will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Reporting relationship

Key result areas
- Prepare monthly commercial reporting in line with Company Procedures
- Prepare cash requirement requests and process all payment status reports as requested
- Keep cost, accounting, receiving, and auditing record
- Prepare the Monthly Cost Summary Report and oversee the preparation of the Monthly Progress Report
- Develop and maintain the Critical Items Action List
- Develop and monitor the budget approval process
- Develop and maintain cost and commitment reports and update monthly
- Prepare, negotiate, and agree final accounts to maximise profitability
- Prepare interim valuations and payment certificates for subcontractors
- Prepare, negotiate, and agree subcontractor final accounts
- Prepare pre-contract budgets, monitor budgets, and prepare monthly cost reconciliation reports
- Prepare subcontract tender packages, negotiate contracts, and prepare subcontract agreements
- Prepare supplier tender packages, negotiate contracts, and prepare supply contract agreements
- Monitor contractual matters and prepare and issue all relevant contract notification letters to Contractors, Clients, their representatives, and subcontracts alike
- Consult with Project Director prepare all necessary documentation to secure extensions of time; direct loss and expense claims and maximise variation returns
- Consult with the Accounts Department and assist in the timely payment of interim certificates, final accounts, and invoices
- To assist in the further development of organisation and management structures and systems within the Construction Department to enhance efficiency and productivity
- To interface on behalf of The Company with subcontractors; business associates; and other personnel on matters relating to the Commercial management of the Construction Department
- To consult closely with the Projects Director on all contractual matters relative to the Commercial performance of the Construction Department
- Assist the Development Team with any other related tasks
Marginal Functions
- To assist in the further development of organisation and management structures and systems within the Construction Department to enhance efficiency and productivity
- To interface on behalf of The Company with subcontractors; business associates; and other personnel on matters relating to the Commercial management of the Construction Department
- To consult closely with the Projects Director on all contractual matters relative to the Commercial performance of the Construction Department
Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Training and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, engineering, or a related field is required. Professional certifications will be an asset
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management, business development, or related roles, with demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and managing client relationships
- Communication and Negotiation: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Results Orientation: Results-oriented with a track record of achieving targets, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficient in industry-standard software including MS Office Suite
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and related job experience
