The successful Facilities Technician will be responsible for organising and coordinating the facilities management of FCL and its affiliates.
 Key Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepares reports on matters related to the facilities serviced and assists in preparing proposals, annual procurement and maintenance budget, estimates, scope of works, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, reporting on activities, and implementing corrective action as required
- Provides support in planning for job execution, equipment acquisition, deployment and retrieval of equipment and staff to efficiently carry out tasks
- Provides information for costing and procurement of equipment, furniture and other items for work completion
- Assists in implementing and ensuring compliance with standards and policies, including identifying health and safety hazards and recommendations to mitigate issues
- Coordinates plans with Facilities Manager, contractors and staff for efficient execution of jobs
- Conducts periodic and scheduled assessments of facilities, equipment and fittings to ensure optimal functioning and report deficiencies for repairs or maintenance
- Oversees diverse projects, the performance of trades workforce (contractors) and service providers, ensuring the prioritisation of projects and activities, and the maintenance of all safety and quality standards according to set standards, policies and agreed-upon timelines and goals
- Performs basic maintenance and repairs involving areas such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and air conditioning. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves equipment issues, makes necessary repairs, arranges for repairs to be effected, or advises management to facilitate corrective action
- Arranging and coordinating timely responses to complaints from the various stakeholders
Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Knowledge of maintenance related to mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, air conditioning systems, plumbing and general construction
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of health and safety for construction and related areas of work
- Some knowledge of facilities management
- Ability to use/operate small handy equipment and tools for repairs and maintenance
- Ability to prepare estimates and specifications for facilities and equipment maintenance and repair
- Proficient in using computers including Microsoft Office
- Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
Required Qualifications
- Should possess a minimum of 2 years experience in facilities and equipment maintenance and repair work
- Training and certification in related discipline/s
