- At least 3 cabinet ministers affected by reshuffle
- Will address media in new ministerial portfolios on Friday, 5 January
- Swearing-in ceremony will be held at Governor-General’s residence
Cabinet ministers who will be affected by the reshuffle are set to receive their instruments of appointment on Thursday, 4 January 2024, and will address the media for the first time in their new ministerial portfolios on Friday, 5 January.
“This press conference will address new portfolios assigned to members of government in a recent Cabinet Reshuffle. At the head table will be all the ministers who have been assigned new ministerial portfolios,” said a media invitation from the Government Information Service (GIS).
The Instrument of Appointment is the credential or document presented to a cabinet minister from Governor-General Dame Cécile La Grenade to hold a particular office or ministerial portfolio. That instrument is also presented whenever a cabinet minister is acting for any other minister when he or she is out of state.
Family members and close associates of at least 3 cabinet ministers affected by the reshuffle have confirmed that they will be attending the swearing-in ceremony where the instruments of appointment for the new ministerial portfolios will be presented.
The event will be held at the Governor-General’s residence in Point Salines.
“When they meet with the media on Friday it is really to introduce themselves and speak about their plans and anticipates for the ministry to which they are assigned,” said one close associate who is attending.
