The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) is set to begin construction of the Laura Lands Water Treatment Plant (WTP) as a part of its capital projects. In line with this, NAWASA is seeking applications from individuals with the appropriate qualifications to assume the role of Site Supervisor.

Preamble

The successful candidates will report to the Planning and Development Manager or his designate. The Site Supervisor will be based in the field for his/her assigned project site.

Scope of Work

The Site Supervisor will be based in Laura Lands, St David, and will:

  1. Supervise the contractor and the works being constructed daily
  2. Support quality control efforts for civil works, maintaining comprehensive daily logs of the contractor’s progress, weather conditions, material allocations and usage, production drawings, all onsite data, and site inspections
  3. Assist with systematic measurement of completed works, prepare and sign off on claims for payment, variation, and change orders
  4. Oversee the contractor’s execution of the Occupational Safety and Health Plan
  5. Collect, log, and file all tests and their results with digital photographs and written records
  6. Conduct weekly site meetings with the contractor. Record and organise daily, weekly, and monthly documents exchanged with the contractor
  7. Assist in coordinating activities throughout the project site, liaising with entities in charge of underground utilities, nearby amenities, and neighbouring property owners as required
  8. Undertake any other relevant tasks that may arise from time to time

Minimum Professional Qualification

  • Certificate in Building Construction or related Technical Certification from a recognised institution
  • At least 3 years experience as a Site Supervisor on construction projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proficiency in estimating and costing of civil works
  • A valid driver’s licence will be an asset

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Computing skills, particularly in word-processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to achieve deadlines
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Thoroughness
  • Driven Initiative

Remuneration

The contract duration is 1 year. Remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience.
