Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell and Opposition Leader Dr Keith Mitchell are scheduled to be feature speakers at 2 public lectures but in different territories.
The Prime Minister will be the featured speaker at the 19th Sir Archibald Nedd Memorial Lecture at the Grenada Trade Centre on Wednesday, 22 November, an annual event organised by the Grenada Bar Association and named after Sir Archibald Nedd, a Grenadian legal scholar and jurist who served as the Chief Justice of Grenada from 1979 to 1986. This yearās topic is āReparations, Republicanism and the Rule of Law: What next after 50 years of Independence.ā
On Thursday, 23 November, former Prime Minister and current Opposition Leader Dr Keith Mitchell will be the featured speaker at the 18th Patrick A M Emmanuel Memorial Lecture, on the topic āReflections of the role of Prime Ministerial Power and Authority in Regional and International spaces.ā Organised by the Department of Government, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology, the lecture will be held at the Walcott Warner Theatre, Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, The UWI, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. āThe lecture is expected to offer unique perspectives on negotiating the regional spaces of the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Caribbean Community (Caricom), and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) while also engaging multilateral frameworks such as United Nations, the Commonwealth and other intergovernmental organisations,ā according to the invitation.
