Once again, the small island Caribbean nation of Grenada leads the way in the region for showing its artists in the most prestigious art exhibition in the world — the International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.
No longer a newcomer, this is the 7th consecutive time that opportunity and collaboration have fallen in line to accomplish this herculean task. The Grenada Arts Council (GAC) oversees this project.
Minister of Culture Honourable Ron Redhead has appointed Dr Susan Mains as the Commissioner and Dr Daniele Radini Tedeschi as the Curator. An open call was sent out worldwide, and the artists were chosen following the theme of the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Adriano Pedrosa, “Stranieri Ovunque — Foreigners Everywhere.” This topic provided a fertile ground, especially for Caribbean artists, and the title chosen for the pavilion is “No Man is an Island.”
The following artists have been selected to present their works as Exhibitors of the Grenada Pavilion: Suelin Low Chew Tung, Benaiah Matheson, Frederika Adam, Alma Fakhre, Jason de Caires Taylor, Angelo Accardi, Antonello Diodato Guardigli, Lorenzo Marini, Gabriele Maquignaz, Nello Petrucci, and an artistic collective.
The exhibition will be staged at the exquisite Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello in Cannaregio, Venice. This charming, superbly preserved antique building provides a valuable opportunity to show the works and serves as a welcome respite from Venice’s busy walkways and canals.
Mains and Tedeschi worked together in 2019 and 2022 and found this collaboration spawned a rich creative matrix in which the artists grew. The resulting network has conducted to many beneficial opportunities for artists in Grenada. The Start Group of Italy has provided significant sponsorship, thus enabling Grenada’s participation.

An exceptional effort. Congratulations to Grenada and the group.
I have know the very first work of Jason in Grenada and following his progress with e- mail. Being a French-Grenadian myself and leaving now in France I am delighted to see his participation to this event.
