Government, through the Ministry of Culture, is once again fulfilling one of its promises to the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
In this instance, the students of the 2 secondary schools are benefitting from the establishment of a music lab that is being set up following a visit last year by Minister for Culture, Hon. Ron Redhead, and a team from his Ministry.
Acting Chief Cultural Officer Adrian Mark and Technical Officer Kirk Phillip are presently on island to meet with contractor Alvin Gay, who will be doing the refurbishment of the laboratory room at Bishop’s College.
Mark noted that Government had budgeted over $100,000 for the music lab. He said they will be utilising local tutors in the persons of John and Jason James, producers at Xpert Studios.
Mark added that teachers at secondary schools will also be given an opportunity to develop their musical skills.
Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Hon. Tevin Andrews said the music lab is a great step in the development of the music industry on the island.
