The Public Works Division within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government is about to embark on another major infrastructural project on Carriacou.
The Belair Road network will be widened and upgraded to ensure an easier traffic flow. This road is considered one of the most important on the 13-square-mile island, leading to the lone hospital, Princess Royal Hospital.
Commuters have been complaining about the narrowness of the road. During his response to the Budget Presentation, Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon. Tevin Andrews, announced that the road’s upgrading will be one of the major infrastructural projects undertaken in 2023.
Please note that Colis Road is for exiting the community of Belair, except for emergency vehicles. All other drivers entering or exiting the community of Belair are kindly asked to use the Belair-Top Hill and/or Belvedere Road network.
The Public Works Division sincerely apologises for the inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your usual kind cooperation and understanding as we work together to improve the road network on the island.
