Individuals, families, communities and businesses are being invited to submit current or past photos of their decorated Christmas trees to the Rotary Club of Grenada to be displayed on the big screens on stage during the Carols by Candlelight concert.
The trees will be shown alongside a special musical rendition of the popular hit song ‘O Christmas Tree’.
This new and special feature will include a photo showcase of Christmas trees from across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The inclusion of this special feature is to symbolically foster unity and peace among people and their communities.
Rotary Club President Juan Bailey said, “As a humanitarian organisation, peace is a cornerstone of our mission. We believe when people work to create peace in their communities, that change can have a global effect. Christmas is a time of year that persons reflect on peace, giving and sharing ”.
An area of focus for the Club is peacebuilding and conflict resolution. Bailey added, “Our Club has had projects which provided training that fosters understanding and provides communities with the skills to resolve conflicts.”
Carols by Candlelight is the Rotary Club of Grenada’s signature annual family event and fundraiser. It will be held at Quarantine Recreational Park on Sunday, 4 December 2022 from 4 pm to midnight. Funds from the event will be used for various Rotary community projects across the tri-island state.
