  • Seagal attended Caricom anniversary reception at Grenada Embassy in Russia
  • Invited to Grenada by Oleg Firer, Grenada’s Ambassador to Russia
  • Exploring business opportunities in performing arts and tourism

Steven Seagal, the American-born actor with Russian citizenship, is currently in Grenada in what appears to be business opportunities exploration in the areas of the performing arts and tourism.

His trip to Grenada comes weeks after attending a reception at the Grenada Embassy in Russia. It is not known who invited him to the reception, but photos of him at the reception are posted on his Facebook page. The reception held on 5 July 2021 was to celebrate the 48th anniversary of Caricom.

It’s not certain when he arrived or when he is expected to depart, but it is understood that the actor was invited to the island by Oleg Firer, Grenada’s Ambassador to Russia, who is also visiting the country.

Seagal received his Russian citizenship in 2016, and in 2018 was appointed an ambassador for humanities by the Russian Foreign Ministry. In June 2021, Seagal who is a musician and martial art expert officially joined the Russian political party “A Just Russia For Truth” which is a pro-Kremlin organisation.

Seagal so far has been photographed with Health Minister Nickolas Steele at the construction site of Six Senses La Sagesse — a Citizenship by Investment (CBI) tourism construction — and with Culture Minister Yolande Bain-Horsford and her Permanent Secretary Michael Stephens. According to a photograph posted on the Ministry of Culture and the Arts Facebook page, Seagal and his team met with the ministry “to discuss the performing art and possible plans for building a studio in Grenada.”

We must ask ourselves why this is happening at this time and what are the benefits to the citizens of Grenada
Citizenship by investment means exactly that and in reality who has money can be a Grenadian and be treated far better than a born and bred Grenadian….you just have to look at the way they are welcome here initially and therefore they are treated as royalty.

I heard the minister of culture talking some nonsense about Seagal building cultural center what a joke ! Nnp must think all Grenadians turn senile first o say to her take him to Grenville town where you live let him see that when it rains you need a canoe to get out of your house because of the flooding in the town when it rains ,and second the nnp bought Regal cenema for 1 million dollars under Brenda hood as then minister of culture to be used as a cultural center and then turn around snd sell it year later to one of their supporter for half of what they paid plus the the upgrade Simon center was allowed to deteriorate even though nnp promised to refurbish it my advice to the minister you have failed everywhere agriculture ,housing , social services stop making a mockery of your self this kind of tatta is recycled materials

Celebrity worship is growing in Grenada. Amusing how every guy who has been photographed standing with him has the urge to assume his stance!!!

Here we go again. Grenada for sale this time by the Russian. People your little piece of the Rock is headed for a Communists island. Nicholas and other disciples of the Grenada Government are seen not wearing Masks. However, he is chastising the citizens for not taking the Vaccine. But his head is so far up the Butt of this Russian Diplomat that he cannot see the message he is sending. Why the Curfew when they are the ones spreading the Virus. Russian investigators?? Really! Think about it people.

Do some research. Just because ge made some crappy movies doesn’t mean he is trustworthy. Remember, no American can hold dual citizenship. Don’t be fooled you small town inexperienced government persons. You know nothing about this man and his reputation. Why bring more corruption to Grenada via Russian connections.

I like your comment but common let’s speak only facts. What makes you think Americans cant have dual citizenship?

    • Jazmine Charles says:

      Know facts before speak…
U.S. law does not mention dual nationality or require a person to choose one nationality or another. A U.S. citizen may naturalize in a foreign state without any risk to his or her U.S. citizenship.
