The Government of Grenada is reducing the quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated people entering the country.

Members of Cabinet have agreed that effective 1 May 2021, persons providing proof of full vaccination will only be required to quarantine for up to 48 hours, pending a negative result from a PCR test, administered on entry.

Travellers will still be required to provide a negative PCR test result, valid up to 72-hours prior to the start of travel.

An application for travel authorisation must be completed prior to travel, via the website, travelauth.health.gov.gd.

Additionally, the PCR test to be administered in Grenada must be paid for prior to this application. Payments are accepted online via the Government’s payment portal, pay.gov.gd.

People are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after the second dose of a 2-dose vaccine such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna, or 2 weeks after a single dose in the case of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Arriving passengers will not be permitted to leave quarantine until medical clearance is granted.

Persons who are not fully vaccinated or unable to provide proof of their vaccination will be required to quarantine for up to 7 days, with a PCR test being administered on day 5.

Prime Minister Dr the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell said Government’s policies throughout the pandemic have been geared towards safeguarding the health of the population but at the same time, these policies have remained agile enough to adapt to the changes taking place as the pandemic evolves.

Grenada just wants to make money anyway they can. I will cancel my trip. If u got the vaccine nd you have a negative test why is quarantine necessary? Vaccine received,, negative covid test, get another in grenada and then pay to quarantine? No need to travel there.RIDICULOUS!!!

Vaccines do not prevent persons getting nor spreading the virus. Fully vaccinated persons can still get and transmit the virus to other persons vaccinated or not. The advantage is that vaccinated persons are less likely to become seriously ill leading to death.

What we are seeing here is people being used as weapons of mass destruction. Think about it.

Let me see if ah get this right, if I show proof that I am fully vaccinated, I must also show proof, I am negative ? Then still get test In Grenada? Then if negative, still quarantine? Lord allyu killing the goose that is laying the Golden egg. Did anyone think about this?

I agree with you. It’s ridiculous to show proof of vaccine, test before entry and test again after entry.
Come on! One test should suffice, either before entry or upon entry, before release to community. I think they like making money off the PCR tests!

Correct. Foolishness. I cancelled already. No visit to homeland until change take place.

Non of this Government bullshit make any sense. If the Experimental Vaccines are so effective and provides Immunity as they claim….then why does anyone who after agreeing to be inject wirh their experimental vaccine drugs, now need to further take another two PCR tests and be quarantine for 2-5 days while in Grenada? Probably because the Government know these experimental vaccine drugs do next to nothing. More Covid19 Tyranny crap that make absolutely no sense in Grenada and beyond..
99.7% of us have a fully functioning Immune System and in a Free country should not be forced under any of this lunatic tyranny. I for one will not spend my hard earned money, visiting any country where this CV19 nonesense exist. Goodbye Grenada tourism industry.

PCR test is used for persons showing symptoms. Lateral Flow Test is used for persons not showing symptoms. Government needs to think about which test to use. LFT is much cheaper & quicker than PCR. I am not a doctor but this is what is done in the UK.

We live in a corrupt society and it is who you know not what you know .therefore we will have some folks being able to get fake documents stating they have been vaccinated which is easy based on your status in some of these little island where money talks.

What about children who have not been vaccinated, coming with two vaccinated parents ?

Is it factual that a person who is vacinated do not need to take the covid test. The reasoning is the antibody is in the person and hence the result will be positive. Please clarify.

    • anthony slaine says:

Antibodies from vaccination do not show up for a few weeks.

      • DDaDan says:

Yes, but a lot of people around the world are now fully vaccinated and may not travel for months, so Jans point may cause issues upon testing.

    • Jtbanat says:

Getting the vaccine does not make you test positive for Covid. The data is clear on that. I’ve also experienced this personally. No need to worry about testing positive for Covid after being vaccinated.
