The Ministry of Health announces its gratitude to the Embassy of Grenada in Beijing, and Grenada’s representative in Miami, Ambassador Warren Newfield, for the large shipment of health supplies, which arrived in Grenada on Wednesday, 6 May 2020.

The shipment which arrived from China, includes 15,000 surgical masks, 50 goggles, 100 Personal Protective Equipment, and 1,500 viral swabs—all procured through the efforts of Ambassador Abbie David in China.

Also included were 5,000 surgical masks and 10 ventilators, through a joint donor collaboration between Ambassador Warren Newfield and his main CBI agent in China, Anna Chen.

Foreign Minister, Hon. Peter David, in receiving the supplies and handing over to Minister for Health, Hon. Nickolas Steele, expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to Grenada’s representatives abroad who have worked diligently, under challenging circumstances, to procure supplies and other means of support for their homeland.

Minister David said, “We are grateful to Ambassador Newfield and Ambassador David for their efforts in not only securing these supplies, but in getting them to Grenada. We have all heard the stories of the difficulties that countries have encountered in getting supplies delivered, so we must appreciate the effort involved in these donations.”

For his part, Health Minister, Honourable Nickolas Steele, said that “today’s shipment, as well as the many others that we have received from different donors over the last few weeks and months, will go a long way in helping to boost the confidence of the general public, and more so, our frontline workers, in Grenada’s ability to adequately meet the demands of this disease.”

Both Minister David and Minister Nickolas Steele expressed tremendous gratitude on behalf of the Government of Grenada, to all donors who have come forward to assist Grenada in its fight against COVID-19. They both highlighted the efforts of the People’s Republic of China, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Alibaba Group, Canadian Bank Note, National Lotteries Authority, St George’s University, WINDREF, PAHO, and all others, for all they have done in helping Grenada to meet the challenges of this public health crisis.

For what reason is china responsible for covid 19. If we read our bibles then and only them we will come to the realization that bible is coming to pass. The bible talks about diseases, pestilence, plaques etc. Thid is just one of the many that we will see in out lifetime..instead of getting in line and seeking Gods face, we are here pointing fingers. We just instead thank God for his mercies and his grace he has bestowed on us that we are still amongst the living and not the dead. Take a minute and thank him. Seek his face and stay fast in his promises and his word. When we read we gain knowledge. Only listening to the people who are looking for prestige or recognition and start paying attention to what God has already set fort. Dray blessed and stay safe in his arms.

Grenada government got in bed with China after Ivan, that was a mistake. Soon China will own more and more of Grenada.

Beggars cannot be choosers! (Particularly in a critical situation as this is). With Grenada having gotten into bed with China as we have, we cannot expect any/much help from the US (or many others for that matter). China deliberately and knowingly inflicted this terrible plague on the entire World and rather than getting thanks and a “Pass”, Grenada needs to send China a bill for the amount of harm and damage caused to Grenada. I wonder whether we will see a major increase in “valid” Chinese tourists (not workers) to offset the future loss of visitors from the US and UK, as anyone closely associated with China’s brutal regime will be pariahs going forward.

On April 30, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) in the US issued a press release saying that the Intelligence Community concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not man-made or genetically modified. On May 4 CNN reported that according to two Western officials, intelligence shared among Five Eyes nations indicates it is “highly unlikely” that the coronavirus outbreak was spread as a result of an accident in a laboratory On the same day, National Geographic published an interview with Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci, who said the scientific evidence is very strongly leaning toward this could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated. Great America did a great job in making fake news, save time to cure more patients so that Grenada could be back to normal life.

Denver – great try! The fact that the Chinese Government Trolls are trying to hide the truth from us little old Grenadians is telling how desperate they have become. Their desperation and influence is daunting as I tried to post a comment earlier that was critical of China in the matter and it was taken down, like this one likely will.

More begging by Grenada for supplies and equipment. Even begging from Venezuela and Cuba, which are struggling and impoverished as well

When will Grenadians learn to be self-reliant and start pulling their weight in the international community? If you can’t afford to be an independent nation, you shouldn’t be an independent nation.

It is almost too gut wrenching & chilling to read this article labeled as HEALTH.

To bow down to and reach out our Hand to the wanna-be our control big Masters that in the first place had inflicted this horrific and costly damage on Grenada and on the rest of the Globe is just so unbearable.

China should do much more, like in fact focus on restoring what they wrecked in Our Homeland here & in the rest of the World.

I could not have said it any better. The fact that they caused this and did not tell the truth about the virus is uncontactable. That being said for the health of the Grenadian people I am glad you have received supplies that will help if needed. As an American and a homeowner in your beautiful country I am disappointed that America hasn’t done more to help. I am also disappointed that we have allowed China to make such big investment’s in Grenada and stand idilly by. Be safe Grenada can’t wait to get back to place I love.

Lisa, all of the COVID-19 cases originated from Wuhan, China. That is the outbreak point of this terrible global virus.

okk Duncan, but more and more evidence show Wuhan might noe be the original place, director of US CDC said last september some COVID19 deaths have been diagnosed as flu-related in the United States,, it might be spread for 3 months before Wuhan, and scientist find :SARS-CoV-2 was already spreading in France in late December 2019 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924857920301643?fbclid=IwAR34SKfd0ItkCwXn_JwyltWSs6exUxctpslCiMo4VQzYbS1j-hdu3fmrGlU
