Warning – avoid nonessential travel to:
Iran, South Korea, China, Europe, including the United Kingdom and Ireland

Widespread respiratory illness, caused by a coronavirus (Covid-19), has been reported in Iran, South Korea, China, and Europe. Therefore, the Government of Grenada is imposing the following travel restrictions to take effect at midnight on Wednesday, 18 March 2020.

  • You will be quarantined for a period of 14 days upon arrival into Grenada, if you are a Grenadian National or Resident.
  • If you are NOT a Grenadian National, and in the last 14 days you have been to Iran, South Korea, China, or anywhere in Europe (including the UK and Ireland), you will be refused entry into the country.
  • If you are arriving from any other destination, you will be screened upon entry, and quarantined for 14 days.

Please note, before disembarking, every passenger is required to complete a declaration form on your health status. You are also required to check in daily with the Ministry of Health, regardless of your point of origin. Additionally, you will be quarantined or isolated, if you become symptomatic during your stay.

The MOH reiterates that all first response personnel will continue to observe the necessary safety protocols to ensure their personal safety, and reassures the general public that there is still no need for panic but at the same time remember to always practise proper hand, cough and sneeze hygiene and social distancing.

This travel advisory is subject to change.

USA should be #1 on your list. We have no testing. We have new cases coming out spreading like wildfire. We are in A state of emergency. Everything is closed. Stores are empty. We have a curfew. Schools are closed. Hospitals are crowded. It’s not safe here at all!

  2. Nikita says:

Excluding the US is a mistake because their numbers are lower only due to the lack of testing.

  3. Mary Augustine says:

Why is the US. Not on this list!

  4. Tony Dowley says:

This is all a bit silly, nobody is telling us how long
this advisory is for, the USA is as much a risk as any country from Europe…….
As somebody else just said, how can you be in quarantine for 14 days and report to the Ministry of Health on a daily basis.
Anyway, the government has effectively shut the island down, without upsetting the USA.
Who on business or tourism is going to arrive in Grenada to be quarantined for 14 days, cant think of anyone who would want to do that.
So in reality, how many planes will actually arrive after tomorrow ?
So if there are no cruise ships, air travel, it seems wont happen as it will not be commercially viable, all those saying the government must ban more countries, I don’t think you need to panic, other than buy boat, nobody is coming until the ban is lifted

  5. Bain says:

Lawd this inept government….Ban all travel to and from these countries including the US.. u can’t bring back a life…damn it

  6. Bill Bekemeier says:

If I fly in from the USA and am on a sailboat for the entire time I am in Grenada, will that be considered a suitable “quarantine”? If so, how would I “check in daily with the Ministry of Health?”

  7. Kadijah says:

Please amend the list to include other countries to be barred. I hope this is not a confirmed list because the situation will cause things to change on a daily basis. A more fluid approach to this plan needs to be taken.

  8. RSmith says:

I 100% agree ,USA is the world hot spot right now because they haven’t been testing enough and there is thousands of infected people in the USA that is undected right now,it on the news every day ,BBC ,CNN,NBC etc please dont be foolishly naive

  9. Confused and Concerned says:

Why is the US not on this list? Why arent any of the affected Caribbean countries on the list? Allowing anyone to enter from the US is incompatible with, and will undermine, the restrictions on other countries. The chance of an infected person arriving from South Korea is minuscule compared to the chance of an infected person coming from the US or Tinidad, or Jamaica, or St. Lucia.
A national emergency needs to be declared and the ports need to be closed if we are to have any success in containing this. There is NOTHING to gain by keeping these gaps open!

  10. Terry Ollivierre says:

There we go Dr.Keith make no mistakes and don’t take anything for granted, ban the travel to and from Jamaica,Trinidad ect…,You all are doing a good job so far by keeping this devistation out of the country.
