The stage is set for the hosting of the inaugural GTC-Classique Lighting Bicycle Relays on Sunday, 2 June 2019 at Morne Rouge, St George’s, from 3 pm – 6 pm.
A number of teams have been registered and the organisers are confident that the event is set to be one of fun, excitement and competitive rivalry.
This event will see a number of exciting bicycle relays, in various categories, around the Morne Rouge Ring Road, for persons of all ages. The final race will be a relay of challenge and endurance (four legs) which will commence at the Maurice Bishop International Airport and end at the Grenada Trade Centre.
This event was developed in an effort to:
- Provide an outlet for the youth, in light of the limited sporting activities planned for 2019;
- Develop cycling in Grenada;
- Add to the/enhance the Grenada tourism product; and
- Promote health and wellness.
The event is targeting schools, clubs, family, work colleagues. Individuals can also use it as a personal challenge or a friendly outing.
