The Grenada Coalition of Services Industries (GCSI) secured the participation of:

  • Jessie-Ann Jessamy of Nutmeg Design Company Ltd which specialises in textile design and screen printing
  • Edith Isaac of Digital Connections (DC Creativity studio), an animation, video and audio start-up company with a primary focus on developing education through animation.
  • Wayne Green, recording engineer and artiste manager Director for Copyright in Grenada.

This was made possible by Caribbean Export, in conjunction with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) and Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Service Industries (TTCIS).

The workshop, which takes place 27-28 March for 20 business entities from the CARIFORUM region is focusing on Fashion, Music and Anima and will address areas such as:

  • Export readiness
  • Product development
  • Creating a unique value proposition,
  • Branding and marketing,
  • Pricing,
  • Quality and standards,
  • Intellectual Property
  • Opportunities under the EPA
  • An introduction to export planning (SGG overview)

According to Jude Bernard, Chairman of the Grenada Coalition of Services Industries (GCS), “We are delighted to have secured the participation of these 3 individuals in this very valuable workshop, just 1 week after successfully hosting our 3rd Annual Services Go Global programme for 10 other local service producers, equipping them with a ‘road map’ for exporting their services globally, and just 4 months after securing participation of 6 Grenadian services professionals at Caribbean Export Promotion Agency’s, Cultural Creative Workshop in Barbados last November – from which one of the participants, Goovy artist, Vaughn, placed 3rd in the recent International Groovy Soca competition in Trinidad.”

The Grenada Coalition of Service Industries will expand on export planning by hosting the full SGG training (Services Go Global) programmes18-22 March 2019 at the Grenada Youth Center. This emphasises their continued efforts to build the export capabilities of Grenadian service providers and producers.

The GCSI is delighted to work with Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) to enhance their capacity as they continue to compete on the regional market. Thus, the GCSI looks forward to continually working to aid service providers and producers in fulfilling their dreams, and aspirations.
