For the very first time, scores of students with their eyes set on a career in the telecommunications industry will get an insider’s glimpse into the region’s largest telecommunications company, Flow.

The company will host its first Annual Flow Career Expo which promises to be one of largest recruiting events in the region. The mission of the Career Expo according to General Manager, James Pitt is to “to provide a platform for students and young professionals to interact with the best and brightest talent within our organisation to share ideas and discuss future career opportunities in the telecoms space that best suit their areas of skill and study.”  Pitt went on to add that he is proud that Grenada is the first market across the Windward and Leeward islands chosen to pilot the Career Expo and that some of the attendees at the Expo will be invited to join the Flow Internship Program which will offer a number of one-year internships in a variety of telecommunications disciplines beginning in January 2019.

The FLOW Career Expo is also expected to feature external partners who will speak on a range of related subjects that are trending now with millennials interested in the ICT space. Discussions are slated on ‘Using social media in Business applications’, ‘How technology impacts Finance – FinTech, Bitcoin and more’ to name just a few. Many of Flow’s Regional Managers based in Grenada and its Senior Leadership Team will host some of the Expo booths to showcase the future of Technology, HR, IT, Finance and other careers in the telecommunications industry. Students will have unprecedented access to interact face to face with the Flow Team and to experience first-hand the varying roles and opportunities that make up the organisation.

The Flow Career Expo is an extension of the company’s long-standing commitment to investing in Education, which also includes the Flow Scholarship Programme now in its 28th year. In 2018, 9 additional students were welcomed into the Flow family with full tuition scholarships towards their secondary school educations for the period 2018-2023.  The scholarship programme which provides financial and other assistance through secondary, and in some cases, tertiary education is a natural precursor to the Flow Career Expo, which now seeks to help students make that necessary transition from student life to the world of work.

In his opening remarks to media and students present, GM Pitt also stressed that “Telecoms is one of today’s fastest moving and evolving industries.  The emergence of new innovations, creates a never-ending cycle of learning and a wide range of career opportunities for any young professional desiring a daily challenge and a rewarding career experience.”

Flow invites individuals who are driven and seeking a rewarding professional challenge to apply for the internship programme. If you are interested in applying to the FLOW internship programme, please contact: [email protected].
