Prime Minister Dr the Right Hon Keith Mitchell travels on Tuesday 26 September to Barbados and hurricane-ravaged Dominica.
On Tuesday morning, Dr Mitchell, in his capacity as Chairman of the Caribbean Development Bank, will deliver the feature presentation at the 6th Meeting of Contributors and Development Partners of the Caricom Development Fund (CDF), in Barbados. The presentation will be followed by a short media engagement.
At 11 am, Prime Minister Mitchell, along with Dr Warren Smith, President of the Caribbean Development Bank, and a team of experts from the Regional Security System and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency, (CDEMA), will travel to Dominica aboard the RSS plane, where they will do an aerial helicopter tour of the island, seeing first-hand the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
Thereafter, they will be joined by the Secretary General of Caricom and Dominica native, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, as they meet with Prime Minister of Dominica, Hon Roosevelt Skerrit. This will be followed by a media briefing.
The Prime Minister returns to Grenada on the evening of Tuesday 26. In his absence, Hon Gregory Bowen will be Acting Prime Minister.
