The Ministry of Health hereby advises all existing food handlers who are in possession of the food handlers badge issued by the Environmental Health Department, Ministry of Health, that their badge will be up for renewal on 31 July 2017.
Therefore, food handlers MUST return their badge to the issuing authority (Environmental Health Department) to obtain the new badge that will be valid for the period August 2017 – August 2018.
It is a legal requirement under the Food Safety Bill of 2015, for food handlers and persons that are engaged in the preparation and sale of food, to be in possession of a valid medical certificate and badge.
All concerned are kindly asked to take note, and to contact the Environmental Health Department, Ministry of Health on telephone 440 – 3485 or the nearest District Environmental Health Office. Please be guided accordingly.
