The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) is visiting its closest neighbour, Trinidad and Tobago, from 1 to 3 May, to engage travel agents and the media about exciting developments in Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean.

Trinidad is Pure Grenada’s largest source market in the region. Therefore the GTA is making a significant investment to promote the destination there.

The GTA began its mission with a press briefing on 1 May, at 6:30 pm at the Radisson Hotel. Invited Trinidad media were briefed about Pure Grenada’s newest developments, upcoming events, and activities by the GTA’s representatives. Two Travel Agent Expos are on the itinerary; One was held on 2 May at the Radisson Hotel and the other is carded for Cara Suites Hotel & Conference Centre on 3 May at 3:30 pm. The Expos provide an opportunity for travel agents in the area to engage with the GTA and learn more about what the Spice Island of the Caribbean has to offer visitors from the twin-island nation. A number of media engagements have also been secured including interviews with leading newspapers, Trinidad Guardian and Newsday, as well as the popular Boom Champions radio station.

Even more exciting is that this trip to Trinidad comes on the heels of the digital launch of the GTA’s Free To Wonder Lifestyle Campaign under the umbrella of the Pure Grenada, Spice of the Caribbean brand. Free To Wonder focuses on the many activities that one can see and do whilst in Grenada. This campaign will be introduced to the Trinidad market with the simple message that visitors are ‘free to wonder’ at the beauty of Pure Grenada; ‘free to wonder’ at our marvellous historical sites and ‘free to wonder’ at the warmth of our people; all while feeling safe to do so.

Grenada’s Minister for Culture, Hon. Brenda Hood is leading the delegation to Trinidad, comprising the GTA, Spicemas Corporation, and hoteliers. The GTA representatives in attendance are Francine Stewart, Marketing Manager, Delran Andrews, Marketing Executive and Roger Augustine, Destination Experience Officer. Alongside the GTA is the Spicemas Corporation’s CEO Kirk Seetahal, Chairman Jocelyn Sylvester–Gairy and Board Member Cedric Mitchell. Participating hoteliers include Sir Royston Hopkin, KCMG, and Janelle Hopkin of Spice Island Beach Resort, Odissa Gellineu of Mount Cinnamon, Coleman Redhead of Grenadian by Rex Resorts, Arleen Redhead of Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, Kendra Hopkin–Stewart of Blue Horizons Garden Resort, and Kisha Smith of True Blue Bay Resorts.
