The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) is concerned about recent masquerading activities that have resulted in unlawful acts, including traffic obstruction, defacement of public and private property, excessive noise, intimidation of residents and businesses, and other forms of public nuisance.
These unauthorised actions not only inconvenience the public but also detract from the cultural significance and positive values associated with legitimate masquerading and community celebrations.
While the RGPF supports the preservation of cultural traditions, such activities must be conducted in a lawful manner and with due respect for the rights, safety, and property of others. Any conduct that disrupts communities, damages property, or creates safety risks will not be tolerated.
The public is encouraged to report unlawful conduct and comply with regulations governing public gatherings and cultural events. We also urge community leaders, cultural groups and other stakeholders to promote responsible participation and help preserve the integrity of these traditions.
The RGPF will continue to monitor these activities and take appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
The RGPF remains committed to maintaining public safety, protecting property, and preserving public order throughout Grenada.
