Close to 230 scholarships will be awarded to Grenadians in various fields this year, as government continues to prioritize on developing the country’s human resource.
This is in addition to significant sums of money in financial assistance given to hundreds of students.
Sen. Simon Stiell, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education says 122 scholarships have been awarded so far at a value of $39 million, which all fall in line with government’s priority in the areas of hospitality, sciences, health, and agriculture, to name a few.
Minister Stiell spoke of the progress made in securing scholarships since coming into office
He said “445 scholarships at the value of $80 million have being awarded of which we have an additional 122 that I just mentioned. The forecast for this year is 226 scholarships,”
