The local economy is expected to grow by at least 5% in 2016, on the back of a 3.5% expansion in 2014.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell is heartened by the encouraging news, which he credits to the strong unity existing among key stakeholders. He says that the Business Community, Trade Unions, the Churches and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have been working to build the economy.
“We are growing as a country, the fastest growing economy in the Caribbean at this time and in a period of a Structural Adjustment Programme. So that is a clear indication and I put this to one of the most important factors, which is our ability as a country to get all our major players at the table to talk about what is best for Grenada,” Dr Mitchell said.
