Sandals La Source Grenada exports its first batch of talented Grenadian employees to compete in the company-wide ENCORE talent show scheduled to take place in Jamaica later this month.

The Sandals ‘Entertainment Now Creates Opportunities Rewarding Excellence’ (ENCORE) event, is geared to showcase the vast array of talent in the company. It began in 2013 and is the brainchild of Sandals Creative Director, Weston Haughton.

General Manager for Sandals LaSource Grenada, Peter Fraser said he was proud of all his team members and noted that events like these are made to encourage and uplift the morale of Sandals staff, while teaching them that work and fun can coincide.

“I am extremely proud of all the team members who participated in this event. They are all exceptionally talented, and for the ones who were voted the best of the lot, I am confident that they will represent Sandals LaSource and of course Grenada, very well,” Fraser said.

Grenada, entering the competition for the first time, had 5 of its most talented team members selected to represent the company in Jamaica. This selection was made on 28 July, at the Grenada Trade Centre, when dozens of team members competed for the property title of Top Female Model, Top Male Model, Female Vocalist, Champion Dancer and Instrumentalist.

Jadine Hinds from Watersports/Aqua Center took the title of Top Female Model, while Kevon Mitchell from the Resort Sales department took the male crown in the same category. Housekeeping’s Sheena Williams holds the golden mic as the best Female Vocalist. The Champion Dancer is non other than the Entertainment Department’s Dessie Julien. Jamie Charles from the Front Office is the property’s top Instrumentalist.

The team left for Jamaica on 17 September, to compete against champions in the respective categories, representing Sandals and Beaches Resorts from Saint Lucia, Antigua, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
