The Minister of Social Development and Housing, the Hon. Delma Thomas has traveled to New York on Thursday to attend the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly, where she is expected to participate in a round-table discussion on the realization of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for persons with disabilities.
While in New York, the Minister will meet with the Directors of UN Women, UNESCO, UNICEF and the Friend of Cedars Women Organization, as well as use the opportunity to meet with Diaspora communities to collect additional supplies for the nation’s geriatric homes.
Minister Thomas is due to return on 25 September 2013.
