Prime Minister and Minister for National Security Honourable Dickon Mitchell will travel to Trinidad and Tobago on 16 April to attend a symposium on Crime and Violence in the Region.
The symposium, hosted by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, will be held in Port of Spain from 17–18 April 2023 and focuses on violence as a health issue.
Presentations and discussions at the event are expected to be solution-oriented and centre on the common social, economic and security issues that the region faces with respect to crime and violence.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by National Security Advisor Willan Thompson.
Prime Minister Mitchell is scheduled to return on Monday, 17 April 2023. Honourable Dennis Cornwall, Minister for Finance, has been appointed Acting Prime Minister in the absence of Prime Minister Mitchell.
