POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

  • Electrician’s Assistant
  • Groundskeeper
  • Junior Welder

POSITION IDENTIFICATION:  

Job Title: Electrician’s Assistant

Reporting to: Senior Electrician

Core Objectives: 

Provide support and assistance to one or more skilled Electricians

Responsibilities:

  • General assistance to the Senior Electrician including work on installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
  • General work assisting the Senior Electrician including site preparation and clearance and maintaining general site tidiness and assisting as directed by the Senior Electrician
  • Assisting in general electrical work and preparation as directed by the Senior Electrician to assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unloading and checking deliveries
  • Assisting to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, laws, working practices, and health and safety
  • Liaising with Senior Electrician and other site workers and performing jobs as and when they are required, in accordance with contract/agreed requirements and within agreed time limits
  • Working using your own initiative within agreed roles
  • Ensure compliance with agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
  • Maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation associated with your work report to Senior Electrician
  • Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers or which you think may affect health and safety to the Senior Electrician
  • Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team
  • Contribute towards the smooth running of the team
  • From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role

Job Title: Groundskeeper

Reporting to: Site Manager

Core Objectives: 

Performing tasks to maintain the grounds, amenities, and overall appearance of the property

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance of trees and grounds on the property
  • Inspect trees for signs of damage, disease, or pests
  • Cut down and trim trees and branches using chainsaws and other equipment
  • Plant new trees and shrubs to beautify the location
  • Pick up and dispose of natural waste, garbage, and weed
  • Assist with tree and log removals
  • Ensure the property is clean and free of hazards
  • Safely use equipment and tools and perform repairs
  • Cut and remove dead or diseased tree limbs and branches
  • Use chemicals for trees to prevent fungus, pests, insects, etc.
  • Prune and maintain trees at appropriate times during the year
  • Clean walkways of leaves and debris
  • Cut and rake grass
  • Prune and clean flowers and flower beds
  • Work with the crew to complete other maintenance duties
  • Follow the company’s safety standards and regulations
  • Remove trash and other debris
  • Clean drains

Job Title: Junior Welder

Reporting to: Site Manager

Core Objectives: 

Provide support and assistance to one or more skilled Welders

Responsibilities:

  • Tack welding, fabrication of shop aids and fixtures to assist fabrication and welding
  • Welding and fabrication of components and structures as assigned
  • Interpret drawings, and measurements to plan layouts
  • Ability to perform different methods of welding
  • Operation of heavy equipment such as saws and grinders
  • Ability to determine most suitable material for the different types of welding
  • Sets up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and weld according to requirements
  • Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors
  • Solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing, and polishing to prepare weld joints for welding.
  • Carrying out routine preventive maintenance inspections on all equipment
  • The ability to comply with necessary fire preventative measures and Personal Protective Equipment guidelines
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at end of shift
  • Ensuring proper utilisation and storage of all equipment and tools
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Site Manager
