Suitably qualified citizens of member countries of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) are invited to apply to fill the post of Facilities Maintenance Technician, Electricals, Facilities Maintenance Unit, Support Services Management Department (SSMD, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), headquartered in Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis.
The successful candidate will be based in St Kitts and will be hired initially on a 2-year contractual engagement with the opportunity to renew or transfer to the permanent establishment based on performance.
Applicants must have:
- Technical Certification from a formal apprenticeship programme, Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. A first degree in Engineering is preferred;
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting critical plant machinery and building services, preferably within commercial office environment;
- Strong engineering and technical troubleshooting skills;
- Knowledge of energy management practices and building codes;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking;
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic;
- Ability to be flexible, effective time management and multitasking skills; and
- The ability to function effectively as part of a team and work independently.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the Director SSMD and Facilities Engineer, Facilities Management Unit, Support Services Management Department, for the proper performance of his/her duties, which will include:
- Specialised Plant Maintenance (Solar and Elevator);
- Core Campus Electrical & Specialised Life Safety Systems;
- Maintenance of Generators;
- Safety and Compliance; and
- Perform any other related duties which may be assigned by the Executive and management of the department.
SSMD and Facilities Engineer, Facilities Management Unit, Support Services Management Department, for the proper performance of his/her duties, which will include:
