The Ministry of Youth and Sports expresses deep sadness at the passing of Norman Gilbert, a committed contributor to the development of cricket in Grenada and a former member of staff within the ministry.
Gilbert served the sport of cricket with distinction through his involvement with the Grenada Cricket Association. His dedication and steady support helped to strengthen the game and uplift many young athletes. His contributions to national sport, both on and off the field, reflect a life of service and unwavering commitment.
He also served the Ministry of Youth and Sports with dedication, playing an important role in advancing programmes that support youth development and sporting excellence across the country. Notably, he served as Coordinator of Youth and as Permanent Secretary (Ag.), carrying out his duties with professionalism and excellence.
Hon. Delma Thomas, Minister for Youth and Sports, noted that Gilbert’s legacy will endure through the many lives he touched and the strong foundation he helped build within the sporting community.
The ministry extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, the Grenada Cricket Association, and the wider sporting fraternity during this difficult time.
