The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) confirms that all electricity and water rate adjustments must follow established legislative mandates.
Public Utilities are not authorised to announce or imply rate changes unless a formal submission has been reviewed and approved by the commission.
The PURC is the sole authority empowered to review, set, and approve rates for the electricity, water, and sewerage sectors. Accordingly, no rate change is valid without the commission’s approval. Please be guided that any declarations or opinions expressed outside of this process lack legal validity.
