On 16 November, the results of the inaugural “Confucius Institute Digital Application and Practice Case Collection Event,” jointly organised by the Chinese International Education Foundation and the University of Science and Technology Beijing, were officially announced.
Among more than 1,200 Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms worldwide, only 20 were selected for the “Demonstration Case Award.” The case submitted by the Confucius Institute at TAMCC, “Integrated Audio-Visual Storytelling, Intelligent Communication:
A “Digital Communication Practice of the Confucius Institute,” was successfully selected as one of the “2025 Confucius Institute Digital Application and Practice Demonstration Cases,” becoming a distinguished example of digital innovation among Confucius Institutes globally. At the award ceremony, Zhao Lingshan, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the Chinese International Education Foundation, presented the award to the Confucius Institute at TAMCC.
The awarded case focuses on the theme of “Smartly Empowered Civilisation” and explores innovative communication paths for international Chinese education in the digital age. It addresses the challenges faced by Confucius Institutes in international outreach — such as limited communication reach and insufficient audience engagement — by establishing a digital model of “integrated audio-visual storytelling and intelligent communication.” Through the combined use of AI technology, short-video production, digital magazines, and multi-platform operations, the Institute has developed a new pattern of integrated content creation and dissemination.
In practice, the Confucius Institute has used AI technology to compose 13 theme songs for its events. It has also produced theme songs for Marryshow Day at TAMCC, International Culture Week at Ningbo University of Technology, the 2025 World Chinese Conference, the Grenada Wushu Association, and China-aid Agricultural Technical Group and National Stadium Maintenance Project team in Grenada. Through the fusion of “music + visual media,” the institute has significantly enhanced the artistic appeal and impact of cultural communication. Meanwhile, it has produced and released 20 bilingual promotional videos, launched the bilingual digital magazine “Four Seasons at the Confucius Institute,” and disseminated it across platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, Bilibili, and Xiaohongshu (RED). This multi-platform communication showcases a digital communication model characterised by diverse content, precise reach, and broad audiences. Over the past 2 years, related videos have accumulated nearly 200,000 views and over 5,000 likes, comments, and shares.
The institute has also won the “Outstanding Organisation Award” in the HSK Short Video Competition for 2 consecutive years. The digital magazine “Four Seasons of the Confucius Institute” has become an important window for Grenadians to learn about Chinese culture and has contributed a replicable and scalable experience to international Chinese education.
This award represents a high recognition of the Confucius Institute at TAMCC for its achievements in digital development and cultural communication innovation. Looking ahead, the institute will continue to deepen the “Integrated Audio-Visual Storytelling” project, further advancing the integration of AI with teaching and cultural activities, and contributing to the high-quality development of China–Grenada cultural exchange and international Chinese education.
