The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA), through its Tourism Enhancement Fund, on 26 August, officially donated over hospital supplies valued at EC$308,000 to the General Hospital in a formal ceremony attended by the Minister of Health, Hon. Philip Telesford, health officials, hospital management and staff, and representatives from the tourism sector.
The donation — a range of essential medical supplies and equipment selected in consultation with hospital leadership — is intended to support patient care, relieve pressure on frontline teams, and strengthen the island’s health system as Grenada continues its social and economic recovery. Specifically, it will provide specialised care in the areas of ophthalmology, obstetrics, and ear, nose and throat. Allowing patients who once had to travel to receive care, the opportunity to obtain care here in Grenada.
“On behalf of the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association, I am proud to present these supplies donated from our Tourism Enhancement Fund,” said Arlene Friday, Chief Executive Officer, GHTA. “This contribution reflects our industry’s deep appreciation for the health workers who care for residents and visitors and reaffirms the GHTA’s ongoing dedication to supporting our healthcare system and the well-being of our people.”

Representatives of the General Hospital, including managers and frontline staff, expressed their gratitude for the timely support. The Minister of Health also thanked the GHTA and its members for the collaborative effort. “We are very grateful for this generous donation,” he said. “These resources will make a tangible difference to patient care and support the tireless work of our health teams.”
This collaborative effort between public and private entities is an example of positive partnerships that continue to make Grenada a more resilient and sustainable nation for the betterment of our people.
