The Government of Grenada continues to closely monitor and advance the civil works underway in Clozier, St John, adopting a strategic and technically sound approach to ensure the successful completion of the main road infrastructure.
During a site visit on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, Permanent Secretary Alva Browne announced the engagement of senior consultant and civil engineer Timothy Bubb, to provide independent technical oversight and expert recommendations for the project. Browne reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to diligent project management and transparent oversight. Bubb’s preliminary assessment confirmed that the retaining wall constructed by Farray Construction Services Ltd., rests on a solid foundation and remains structurally stable, despite surrounding soil movement. He recommended that attention now be directed to the opposite side of the road, where water flow and saturation pose ongoing challenges. Further technical evaluations will guide the most effective solutions for managing water flow at the site.

The project is being executed by Farray Construction Services Ltd., under the supervision of Chief Technical Officer Kevin Blache and his team. The team has successfully removed excess water from the lower section of the site and is progressing with the casting of the wing wall. Junior Farray reaffirmed his company’s commitment to completing the project within a reasonable time frame.
On Sunday, 20 July 2025, Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure Hon. Dickon Mitchell, and Member of Parliament for St John Hon. Kerryne James, along with other government officials, hosted a community meeting at the Clozier Community Centre. The meeting served to update residents on the project’s progress and to engage them in meaningful dialogue. Prime Minister Mitchell emphasised the government’s unwavering commitment to resolving the current challenges and supporting the community throughout the process.
Community members shared their concerns and offered constructive suggestions to enhance local resilience. Feedback was also provided on the proposed government-supported shuttle service to assist with resident mobility during the construction period.
The Government of Grenada remains steadfast in placing the needs and safety of Clozier residents at the heart of this project. We thank the community for its continued patience, cooperation, and support as we work together toward a stronger and more resilient Grenada.
