A courtesy call on 9 July 2025 with Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell, Shubhodeep Prasanta Das, Honorary Consul for Grenada in Thailand, accompanied by Zhi Ho Heng, Business Manager for Mr Das’ group of companies, and Ambassador Dr Richard Nixon, marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between Grenada and Thailand.
Prime Minister Mitchell emphasised the importance of deepening diplomatic ties, expanding economic trade, and collectively addressing the wellbeing of both nations’ peoples. He welcomed the Honorary Consul’s commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships that align with Grenada’s development goals.

Das expressed his enthusiasm for working closely with Grenada in this new capacity. highlighted several key areas of interest, including:
- Opportunities in manufacturing and food processing to add value to exports and reduce the import bill
- Tourism promotion, including support for the Nomad Visa and non-visa waiver initiatives
- Training for creatives and support for Caribbean film production
- Exploration of energy potential, waste management solutions, and cannabis research and pilot projects
Das noted that his first order of business will be to engage with stakeholders in the manufacturing sector in collaboration with Ambassador Nixon and the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC), aiming to unlock new avenues for economic growth, innovation and investment.
The Government of Grenada looks forward to a fruitful partnership with Honorary Consul Das and the strengthening of ties with Thailand through cultural exchange, trade, and shared development goals.
