National goalkeeper coaches Jason Belfon and Joe-Max Wildman will participate in the 2025 International Goalkeeper Coaches Conference (IGCC25), taking place from 20–22 June in Wilmington, Delaware, USA.

Hosted at the Chase Fieldhouse and led by former US National Team goalkeeper coach Phil Wheddon, IGCC25 is recognised as one of North America’s most respected goalkeeper coaching conferences. The 3-day event brings together elite coaches, sport psychologists, and technical directors to advance modern techniques in goalkeeping development.

This year’s programme includes sessions led by renowned experts such as Jill Loyden of The Keeper Institute, Jamie Annerson and Anthony White of the England FA, Stefan Postma of Ajax, former Barcelona academy coach Xavi Ferrando, and leading sport psychologist Dan Abrahams. Topics include goalkeeper programming design, psychological conditioning, post-game analysis, and the evolution of aerial service training.

Belfon and Wildman, both active contributors to Grenada’s national football programme, will gain valuable insights and practical exposure through both classroom and field-based learning. The opportunity is aligned with the GFA’s continued investment in the professional development of its technical staff and broader football ecosystem.

GFA President Marlon Glean commented on the importance of such opportunities, stating, “Building technical capacity is essential for the long-term success of Grenadian football. By investing in the professional development of our coaches, we are laying the groundwork for a stronger domestic program and enhancing our competitiveness on the international stage.”

IGCC25 Highlights Include:

  • Classroom and field sessions on maximising training time, practice spectrum, and modern service training
  • Psychological, physical, and social considerations in goalkeeper development
  • Presentations by coaching leaders from Ajax, Barcelona FC, The Keeper Institute, and the England FA
  • Daily networking opportunities and breakout sessions with fellow goalkeeping coaches from across the globe

The GFA remains committed to providing learning opportunities for its coaching talent in line with international best practices. Participation in IGCC25 is expected to yield direct benefits to Grenadian football by enhancing the methodology and structure of goalkeeper training across the national programme.
