The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of the Health Fair held on Saturday, 14 June at Morne Rouge Playing Field in collaboration with Fit For Life Medical Services.

The event attracted a multitude of community members who took advantage of the wide range of free health services, including prostate exams, breast exams for women, dental and vision screenings, and valuable information from various health organisations.

Participating organisations included the Ministry of Health, the Sickle Cell Anaemia Association of Grenada, Food & Nutrition Services, Grenada Planned Parenthood Association, GTM Insurance, MASA, the Grenada Body Building and Weightlifting Federation, Mitchell’s Health & Wellness, and many more, all coming together to promote health and wellness in our community.

Arlene Friday, CEO of the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association, expressed her gratitude for the turnout. “We are incredibly pleased with the response from our community, but specifically, from our men. Today’s Health Fair demonstrated the importance of prioritising our health and well-being, starting with our fathers. It’s heartwarming to see so many families come together to access essential services and support one another in their health journeys. Based on today’s success, we plan to extend free Prostate Screenings until the end of June.”

Cecil Mitchell, director of Fit for Life Medical Services, also shared his thoughts on the event. “We are proud to be part of this initiative. The positive feedback we received from participants about the screenings and services reinforces the need for continued male-centred health education and access. Together, we can make a significant impact on men’s health and the rest of our community.”

The GHTA extends a heartfelt thank you to all participants, volunteers, and health professionals and allied GHTA members such as Glenelg and Umbrellas who contributed to the overall success of the Health Fair.
