Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell left the state on Sunday, 4 May, for Washington DC.
The Prime Minister, along with other Heads of Government from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and The Bahamas, are expected to meet with the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday, 6 May, to discuss matters affecting both the United States and the Caribbean region.
This meeting represents the region’s ongoing commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations. Both sides are expected to explore new avenues for cooperation in support of regional security and economic stability.
The Grenada delegation will include Hon. Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development; H E Tarlie Francis, Ambassador to the United States of America, and Dr Wendell Cornwall, Counsellor at the Washington Mission.
More details will be shared following the conclusion of the meeting.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to the state on Wednesday, 7 May 2025. During his absence, Hon. Andy Williams will serve as Prime Minister.
