Grenada’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development Honourable Joseph Andall leads a powerful delegation to EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

The forward-thinking presentation, themed “Health and Prosperity in Harmony,” aims to demonstrate how the integration of health, wellness, and economic growth can create a sustainable, inclusive model for national development.

It will focus on wellness as a lifestyle, a state-of-the-art health infrastructure, agriculture and health integration, wellness tourism and economic growth, as well as economic impact and sustainability.

At the heart of Grenada’s participation is Vision75, where people thrive physically, mentally, and economically, supported by a balanced ecosystem of health services, wellness initiatives, and agricultural innovation, all driven by increased investment opportunities.

The 184-day Expo, which officially opened in Japan on Sunday, 13 April under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” offers the perfect global stage for Grenada to invite new partnerships, inspire collaboration, and solidify its role in shaping a healthier, more prosperous future.

The Expo carries 3 sub-themes: Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives. Grenada is participating under the subtheme “Empowering Lives” which emphasises the importance of education, diversity, and inclusion and seeks to explore how technology and social innovation can support social equality and equal opportunities for all.

Grenada’s exhibition booth will be an immersive experience that transports visitors directly to the island, utilising cutting-edge technology such as virtual reality (VR) video content and other interactive features.

It will serve as a hub to:

  • Showcase its holistic approach to national development, fusing health and economic prosperity
  • Attract international investment, particularly in the health and agriculture sectors
  • Position the country as a premier Caribbean destination for healthcare, wellness tourism, and medical research
  • Display locally manufactured products and clean energy as well as its cultural heritage

By engaging with international leaders, innovators, and investors, Grenada can attract partnerships, forge new trade relationships, and explore cutting-edge solutions to strengthen its health infrastructure, agricultural sector, and environmental initiatives.

A highlight of this country’s participation at the Expo will be Grenada National Day on Saturday, 19 April 2025. It will feature cultural performances, a national day parade, and a reception under the auspices of Foreign Minister Hon. Joseph Andall.

Grenada’s talent will be showcased through a dramatic musical and movement-based performance titled “Pathway to Happiness.” The production, which is spearheaded by the Division of Culture, is a multidisciplinary performance that blends drama, music, movement, poetry, chant, projection, and ritual.

Grenada last participated in a World Expo during Expo 2020, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and previously participated in the World Expo in China in 2010, Italy in 2015 and Kazakhstan in 2017.

Grenada is one of 158 countries participating in the Japan Expo, which is expected to attract as many as 28 million visitors, both domestic and international.

Minister Andall is accompanied by Grenada’s Ambassador to China Ian Marshall, Ambassador Richard Nixon, Ronald Theodore, Director, Investment Migration Agency (IMA); Karline Purcell (IMA) and Gail Purcell, Commissioner General, Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
