The Grenada Public Workers’ Union (GPWU) has officially announced an increase in its fee structure, set to take effect from 1 January 2025.
The updated structure was communicated to the Government of Grenada via a formal request from the union.
Under the new fee arrangement, workers earning a monthly salary of up to $2,000.00 will be required to contribute a fixed fee of $20.00. For workers earning $2,001.00 and above, the fee will be calculated as 1% of their salary.
The Government of Grenada has expressed its commitment to honouring the union’s request and ensuring that the revised salary deductions are implemented. As part of the implementation process, all relevant government departments have been notified, and members are encouraged to acknowledge receipt by signing (yes or no) and returning the circular to the Cabinet Office no later than 24 February 2025 to facilitate the deductions and payments by month end, February 2025.
For further inquiries, members are encouraged to contact the Cabinet Office.

What will be the benefit of thoes fees to individuals in the long run?
Who regulates and monitors these entities. The fee is effective January 01, 2025. This notice is as of February 22, 2025. This is why Grenada is, and always be, a ‘banana republic’.\
Just like Republic Bank, when you try to use their online banking or even worse an ABM it is like playing ‘Russian Roulette’ – you are taking a chance that they are functional !!!
In this case the ECCB needs to exercise closer oversight and implement fines. Similar to the exorbitant fees the bank charges for lousy service!!
Marion Q. CANADA.
It is retrospective effect.
