The Grenville Co-operative Credit Union is proud to announce a significant investment in Olympic bronze medallist decathlete Lindon Victor.

The union solidified its partnership with a renewed agreement that includes a parcel of land and an infusion of nearly half a million dollars. This extension will provide essential support as Victor trains for the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

“We are here today to celebrate your success,” stated Devon J Charles, Grenville Co-operative Credit Union General Manager. “As a sporting icon, your contributions deserve to be recognised not just in the moment but also with an eye on the long term.” He praised Victor for his athletic achievements and his dedication to inspiring the next generation of athletes through his role as a brand ambassador.

Inspired by the trust and investment from the credit union, Victor expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “This investment in my future is humbling. I do not take this for granted nor take my responsibilities as an ambassador lightly. I am committed to being the best brand ambassador for the Grenville Co-operative Credit Union.”

Victor conveyed a powerful message to Grenada’s youth: “Hard work and the right support can transform lives. Sports can change your life; maintaining a positive attitude, humility, and gratitude is vital.”

Tafawa Pierre, Chairman of the Grenville Co-operative Credit Union Board of Directors, reflected on Victor’s achievement at the recent Paris Olympics, which prompted them to enhance their support. “We are thrilled to strengthen our corporate footprint by partnering with someone as inspirational as Lindon. It’s a privilege to accompany him on this journey.”

Gerard St Cyr, Chairman of the Credit Committee, praised Victor for his commitment to mentoring young athletes in Grenada. “When you win, we all win,” he emphasised. Many children in Grenada look up to you, and your mentorship can make a significant difference in their lives.” He highlighted that this extended agreement reinforces the credit union’s understanding of athletes’ needs, providing Victor with the confidence of ongoing support over the next 4 years.

Following signing the new agreement, Victor shared, “Owning property empowers you; it gives you a sense of security and accomplishment. The ability to own land in Grenada is significant, and I am excited about the future.”

This partnership embodies the Grenville Co-operative Credit Union’s commitment to fostering talent in Grenada and empowering its athletes to achieve success.
